Code of Conduct
Purpose
The HARVEST California Members Forum (the “Forum”) is a space for members to share knowledge, ask questions, exchange ideas, and build community around agrivoltaics and sustainable practices. To foster constructive, inclusive engagement, all participants are expected to follow this Code of Conduct.
This Code of Conduct applies to all interactions in the Forum, including discussion boards, listservs, chat channels, comments, event Q&A, working group spaces, and other member-only communication platforms.
Forum rules and guidelines
Members are expected to treat one another with courtesy and professionalism. When discussing within the Forum, please:
- Interact in good faith and assume positive intent.
- Avoid personal attacks, insults, or demeaning language.
- Focus critiques on ideas, not individuals.
To maintain respectful discourse, always:
- Refrain from threatening, harassing, or discriminatory language.
- Do not use slurs or derogatory remarks based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, nationality, age, or other personal characteristics.
- Avoid inflammatory or provocative language that derails constructive discussion.
The Forum may include sensitive or unpublished information. When engaging in conversations, always:
- Respect requests to keep discussions, documents, or personal contact information private.
And, never:
- Share private or confidential content outside the Forum without explicit permission.
The Forum is for agrivoltaics and related professional topics. When engaging with others in the Forum, please stay on topic and contribute in ways that advance collective learning. Unrelated or off-topic promotion that detracts from constructive discussion is not permitted.
The Forum may not be used for unsolicited advertising, sales pitches, or recruitment unless explicitly approved by HARVEST California staff. Approved uses are limited to:
- Responding to a specific request for services, expertise, or collaboration related to agrivoltaics;
- Sharing information about an agrivoltaics-related product, service, event, or opportunity when it is directly relevant to the discussion and not promotional in tone;
- Posting opportunities within designated Forum threads, where such use has been clearly identified as permitted by HARVEST California.
Be mindful of sharing external content. When posting links, documents, or media:
- Ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Provide clear context so others understand why the content is shared.
- Avoid posting harmful, misleading, or unverified information.
If you observe any activity that goes against the rules and guidelines outlined above, report it to HARVEST California moderators immediately.
Moderation
The Forum is a platform moderated by HARVEST California staff. HARVEST California moderators may:
- Delete posts that violate this Code of Conduct
- Issue warnings to members who violate rules
- Temporarily or permanently suspend posting privileges
- Permanently revoke forum access in severe cases
Enforcement decisions are at the discretion of HARVEST California and are intended to protect member safety, civility, and the organization’s mission.
Updates to this Code of Conduct
HARVEST California may update this Code periodically. Continued participation after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Code. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
